Exploring Herzliya: A Tranquil Oasis Near Tel Aviv
Uncover Herzliya, Israel’s Coastal Gem Brimming with Cultural and Recreational Attractions
Often perceived as a northern suburb of Tel Aviv, Herzliya stands as a city in its own merit. The coastal district of this city, Herzliya Pituach, is among Israel’s most prestigious, housing ambassadors and tycoons. Its fine dining options, pleasant beach, and high-end ambiance make it an ideal spot for relaxation, close to Tel Aviv. It’s merely 20 minutes away but feels like a different world from the busy life of Tel Aviv.
EXPLORING HERZLIYA
The primary lure of Herzliya for most visitors is its beach. This charming beach is well-maintained, appealing, and supervised by a lifeguard. It can get crowded during weekends but offers a wonderful retreat from the hustle of Tel Aviv (just 20 minutes away).
The Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art is frequently missed but houses an impressive collection of contemporary works.
The tranquil atmosphere of Herzliya, compared to the bustling Tel Aviv, makes it an excellent location for outdoor activities. Jogging and cycling are popular pastimes in this seaside town, with the stunning marina views adding to the experience.
Located just north of Herzliya, in Gaash, is one of Israel’s two golf courses – a nine-hole course.
Herzliya boasts a wide array of fashionable restaurants, primarily in the Industrial Zone. The Herzliya Industrial Zone is a vibrant area to explore, filled with glass office buildings that house international tech and venture capital firms.
The Herzliya Marina complex also offers a variety of dining options.
The city features several resort-style hotels along its coastline. These aren’t particularly noteworthy unless you prefer to stay here rather than in bustling Tel Aviv. The Herzliya Marina also has a shopping center, although it features the same stores as most of Israel’s malls.
